A: Vrass wire drawing machine are essential equipment in the manufacturing industry, particularly in the production of wires with specific diameters and smooth finishes. These machines work on the principle of reducing the diameter of a wire by pulling it through a series of dies.

A: Drawing speeds are as high as 50 m/s (10,000 ft/min) for very fine wire. In drawing, reductions in the cross-sectional area per pass range up to about 45 %. Usually, the smaller the initial cross section, the smaller the reduction per pass.

A: The wire-drawing process consists of pointing the rod, threading the pointed end through a die, and attaching the end to a drawing block. The block, made to revolve by an electric motor, pulls the lubricated rod through the die, reducing it in diameter and increasing its length.

A: For steel wire drawing, a tungsten carbide die is used. The dies are placed in a steel casing, which backs the die and allow for easy die changes. Die angles usually range from 6–15°, and each die has at least 2 different angles: the entering angle and approach angle.
