2. Lubricant's Influence Factors on Drawing Wire:
(1) Lubricant concentration: The higher the lubricant concentration, the lower the drawing friction, the lower the energy consumption, and the brighter the surface of the finished product line. However, if the concentration is too high, the effect of flushing the die holes will become smaller, and the surface of the wire will be prone to grooves. Moreover, the metal dust will be suspended in the lubricating liquid, and it is not easy to precipitate, which will affect the lubrication effect.
(2) Temperature of lubricating liquid: If the temperature of lubricating liquid is too high, the heat generated in wire drawing is not easy to take away, the wire is easy to oxidize and discolor, and at the same time, the service life of the mold will be reduced, and the strength of the lubricating film will also be affected, reducing the lubricating effect. If the temperature is too low, the viscosity will rise, which is not conducive to wire drawing.
(3) Cleanliness of lubricating fluid: The lubricating fluid should be kept clean. If acid substances are mixed in the lubricating fluid, it will cause the lubricant to separate. Loss of lubricating effect; increased alkali content or chloride ion content, metal wires will be corroded, and mechanical impurities will increase, which will affect the smoothness of the lubrication system, resulting in insufficient supply of lubricating fluid, affecting lubrication and cooling effects.
3. Quality Requirements for Wire Drawing Lubricants:
(1) Good film-forming properties, and can effectively adhere to the surface of the processed metal;
(2) Can withstand high pressure, good thermal stability
(3) Not corrosive
(4) Good cooling effect;
(5) Easy to remove after processing;
(6) No pungent smell, harmless to human body.
